Our team at Inside Japan Tours
The sun never sets on the InsideJapan Tours team (well, maybe on Sundays) as we have offices in Bristol (UK), Boulder, (USA), Brisbane (Australia) and Nagoya (Japan). On this page you can meet the people behind our Japan tours and holidays.
We have a wide range of backgrounds and interests, but you can be sure that the one thing that ties us all together is a love of Japan, Japanese culture and a passionate desire to share that with other people.
From the accounts department, through the travel consultant teams to the tour leaders and guides on the ground, you can rest assured that everything we do is to make sure you have the best possible experience of Japan.
Anna grew up in a small Cotswold village and now lives in Bristol, but Japan remains her home at heart.
When Anna embarked on her first trip to Japan in her teens, she couldn't have predicted just how much the culture and country would impact her life; from that first sight of Mount Fuji, she was sold! She went on to study the language at both a UK university, and an exchange in Osaka before working as a teacher in Saijo, Ehime.
It wasn't long before she threw herself in to all things Japanese; embracing karaoke, posing for endless Hello Kitty-strewn snaps in a purikura photobooth, and taking Yosakoi dancing lessons became just a few of her past-times.
So keen was she to try everything, a Japanese all-you-can-eat in Tohoku was just another challenge. 102 bowls of noodles later, she couldn't move for the rest of the day, but did receive a wooden plaque for her efforts.
Perhaps her most surprising Japanese experience was becoming an unlikely celebrity for an unlikely reason... having a tiny face. In her town, she was frequently accosted to be told (or complimented) on it and her record was seven times on a single day.
Although she loved tucking into Japanese fare, particularly universal favourite okonomiyaki (savoury pancake) she did miss certain British dishes. A full English breakfast, roast dinner, Cornish pasties, and a refreshing pint of cider were on the menu when she got home (not all at once, although after 102 bowls of noodles, we won't rule it out).
