InsideJapan Tours is pleased to see Foreign Commonwealth Office has amended its advice for Japan

InsideJapan Tours (IJT) is pleased to see that the British Foreign Commonwealth Office are the first government to have amended travel advice for Japan and is no longer advising against non-essential travel to Tokyo.

From the moment the earthquake struck on 11 March, InsideJapan Tours maintained close contact with its network of staff, suppliers and friends throughout Japan to be able to provide accurate and balanced information to its clients in the UK and those travelling in the country. The main message was that Tokyo was safe and, for much of Japan, life went on without disruption.

IJT clients travelling in the western and southern parts of Japan prior to 11 March continued on their journeys, and whilst, following FCO advice, some flights were re-routed via Osaka’s Kansai Airport, many clients continued to travel through Tokyo - IJT sent 60 clients to Japan fully confident that their safety would not be compromised and their enjoyment would not be affected.
Feedback from clients currently in Japan for the cherry blossom season suggests that they are delighted to have made the journey for a beautiful cultural experience.
