Japan Unmasked

20th April 2009

Japan Unmasked – and on a budget

Japan expert InsideJapan Tours has introduced a NEW 14-day small group tour enabling travellers to experience the very best of the country - at the hard to beat price of £1,350 - Probably the cheapest 14 day group tour on the market.

Japan Unmasked’ takes visitors to both well-known and hidden highlights across the length and breadth of the land. The inspirational trip encompasses the metropolis of Tokyo, the temples of Kyoto and heads through the Alps, with stays in Buddhist temple lodgings (shukubo) in Nagano and a traditional Japanese ryokan in the town of Takayama. The tour also visits one of the country’s last remaining original castles in the alpine town of Matsumoto, one of Japan’s most beautiful gardens at Kenrokuen in Kanazawa, a poignant stop in Hiroshima, the beauty of Miyajima Island and the picturesque town of Kurashiki. It finishes off in the buzzing city of Yokohama.

“These may be difficult economic times but people are still looking to travel albeit with a keener eye on their finances and cost of the break,” comments Alastair Donnelly, InsideJapan Tours’ Director. “In response InsideJapan Tours has introduced the competitively-priced ‘Japan Unmasked’ small group tour which complements the success of budget self-guided adventure created last year. We are confident ‘Japan Unmasked’ is the cheapest 14-day guided tour to Japan on the market. Other operators offer similar trips but when you take into account their added costs, such as local payments, we believe our tour has the lowest price, without compromising on quality, giving outstanding value.”

InsideJapan Tours’ new tour gives visitors the flexibility to eat as and when they please, choosing from Japan’s excellent value cuisine, with the opportunity to save cash if need be.

The company has always stressed that eating good quality food in Japan is inexpensive and very good value and on the ‘Japan Unmasked’ itinerary travellers will be able to take eating on the cheap to another level, whether slurping a bowl of ramen noodles and soup (£3.50-£5), eating a plate of sushi (70p per plate) or tucking into a convenience store bento box (£3-£5).

Although meals are not included the tour has not compromised on quality and remains in keeping with InsideJapan Tours’ policy that there are no hidden costs - NO local payments and NO single supplements.

Like all of InsideJapan Tour’s small group tours, the trip makes use of Japan’s excellent public transport network, including the famous Bullet Train, allowing visitors to mingle with local people and travel as the Japanese do. And, as with other small group tours, all transport between destinations is included, along with accommodation and the full time services of a tour leader who has lived in worked in Japan.

‘Japan Unmasked’ has three departures for 2009 – 28  August, 15 September and 27 November. The 14-day tour costs £1,350 pp and includes 13 nights’ accommodation, all transport between destinations, 14-day Rail Pass, a full time tour leader and InsideJapan Tours’ comprehensive Info Pack. Excludes international flights which can be booked through InsideJapan Tours from £469 with Finnair.
