La Folle Journee in Japan
Today (April 28th) sees the start of the La Folle Journee classical musical gala in Japan.

Held at various venues including the Tokyo International Forum, the festival is based on a different theme each year and features performances by soloists and orchestras, reports Whatsonwhen.

This theme of this year's event is Bach and Europe and visitors can expect to enjoy a varied programme of activities throughout the Maruouchi district.

Orchestras involved in the gala will include the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Le Concert Francais, the Back Collegium Japan and the Ensemble Vocal et Instrumental de Lausanne.

Directors such as Fabio Biondi, Daniel Cuiller, Kazuchito Koizumi and Masaaki Suzuki will also be attending.

Other events being held soon include the Tokyo Summer Festival in July, which will consist of a month-long celebration of the performing arts from around the world in the form of orchestral concerts and interactive dance shows.
