Ale enthusiasts may be interested to learn that the Great Japan Beer
Festival takes place from June 6th to 7th.
Visitors to the annual event, which will be held at the Yebisu Garden Palace, will be able to sample more than 80 different craft beers hailing from both local and international breweries, reports Whatsonwhen.
A fee is payable for entry to the event, however the ticket includes unlimited 50ml beer tastings.
"We will serve luxurious, authentic and rare beer from Japan and overseas in a tasting at
Tokyo Midtown, the gathering place for people with refined tastes," commented the organisers.
Founded in 1998, the
festival is staged by the Japan Craft Beer Association in partnership with the NPO BeerTaster Organisation.
Each year, more than 30,000 people turn up to taste the wide variety of beverages on offer.
Beer originally became popular in Japan during the Edo Period when beer halls were opened by Dutch traders.
