Actor returns to the stage after injury
Japanese actor Arata Furuta has begun performing his new stage play after recovering from an accident that occurred during rehearsals.

Mr Furuta fainted and injured his cheek while rehearsing scenes from Goemon Rock, which started yesterday (Jul 9th) at the Shinjuku-Koma Theater in Tokyo, reports Japan Today.

The 42-year-old commented: "It was so painful, but it is OK now. The stage is very festive and full of people."

The play run until July 28th and includes actress Yauko Matsuyuki and Yosuke Eguchi.

Mr Furuta has starred in a number of films and plays and is famous for depicting larger-than-life characters. Last year, he starred in the film Komori Kachou no Yuuga na Hibi, adapted from the 2004 novel of the same name by Hikaru Murozumi and directed by Ikki Katashima. He is also married to TV personality Yayoi Nishihata.
