Pilkington makes final episode in Japan
Karl Pilkington has filmed the final episode to the second series of the travel shown An Idiot Abroad, in Japan.

The star has admitted the idea was proposed by the man behind the Office, Ricky Gervais, who sends him on a number of hilarious exploits across the country.

Visiting Akita, Kyoto, Tokyo and Mount Fiji, Pilkington, born in Manchester in 1972, admitted he had his reservations about jetting off to the island after its recent devastation.

He said: "I'll be honest, I was worried about going to Japan. I said to Ricky and Steve I wasn't sure about visiting the place after the problems they had in March."

Adding that even his mother and girlfriend had their reservations about the trip, Pilkington still made the journey.

Although smothered by a sumo wrestler, whacked with a stick by a Buddhist monk and a less than delicious run in with funazushi, which left him heaving in a Japanese garden, Pilkington remained optimistic.

He said: "I say feel free to visit Japan, just don't let Ricky and Steve [Merchant] organise your itinerary."
