Following on from the recently updated FCO travel advice, international airline Air France has announced that it will be resuming its direct flights into Tokyo-Narita airport as of this evening (April 8th).
Since the March 11th earthquake, Air France has been making intermediate stopovers at Seoul-Incheon airport in South Korea.
However, as of today, the twice-daily direct flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle to the Japanese capital will get underway again. In addition to this route, Air France runs one daily route to Osaka-Kansai airport.
Air France took the opportunity to express its solidarity and support for all those affected by last month's natural disasters in the north east of Japan.
Furthermore, the Air France Foundation has launched a fundraising campaign amongst Air France staff and workers at its Dutch partner airline KLM.
The money raised will be put towards helping children and elderly people in the most affected areas of Japan.
