JNTO advises tourists to make the most of Japan
Springtime in Japan offers a "dynamic mix" of ultra modern aspects and revered traditions, according to the country's national tourist board.

The Japan National Tourism Organisation (JNTO) has highlighted the key attractions for Brits looking to visit the archipelago nation this coming season.

Tokyo's avant-garde skyscrapers and hi-tech showrooms are only half of the attraction, according to Kylie Clark, PR and marketing manager for the JNTO.

"Japan is an incredibly diverse country, so it is best to research in advance so you can get the most out of your holiday," she said.

Other highlights picked out by Ms Clark include the country's numerous historic inns and the ski resorts in the north of the country.

She added that travellers hoping to see a sumo wrestling tournament or catch the seasonal cherry blossom should do their homework and book in advance to avoid disappointment.
