The new 2011 Winter Campaign has been launched by the Japan Tourism Agency (JTA).
Running until the end of March, the series of events and attractions is designed to attract overseas visitors to Japan during the winter months.
JTA has revealed a new website as part of the campaign. The special site contains information on the wide range of special offers available to tourists include details of participating tourist attractions, hotels, retailers and restaurants.
There is also further information on recommended events and
festivals as well as insights into the local Japanese culture.
Meanwhile, one of Japan's largest annual tourist events, the
Sapporo Snow Festival has begun. This year it is expected that more than 250 ice sculptures will feature in the
festival and over 2.5 million people are expected to visit the icy displays before Sunday.
