Regulator to investigate mobile gaming operator
An investigation into DeNA Co is to be made by the Japan Fair Trade Commission about possible anti-competitive practices.

The mobile gaming site operator is facing allegation it may have pressured game developers in withholding titles from a competitor's site.

Tokyo-based DeNA Co's mobile phone site as over 20 million users and combines social networking with an internet portal, which allows access to free online video games. The company has enjoyed strong growth in recent years and reported revenue of 51.28 billion yen from April to September this year.

However, the regulator is to examine claims that DeNa may have forced some mobile game developers into not releasing games with main rival Gree Inc's site

DeNA has confirmed that an investigation is underway but declined to comment any further on the matter.

Founded in 1999, DeNa Co has a partnership with Yahoo! Japan and manages several internet sites including Buyers Club and MobaMingle.
