Gaming giant Nintendo has revealed the timeframe in which it is to release its latest Pokemon offering in Japan.
According to the firm, Pokemon Black and White is due to hit the Japanese market this autumn but more specific dates are set to be announced later this month.
Nintendo has promised that the new Pokemon game will be "a groundbreaking evolution of all aspects". The release is the latest in a new series, with other offerings including Pokemon Diamond, Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon Emerald.
The new game is the fifth generation Pokemon game. The initial launch of the Pokemon franchise saw the game's characters achieve cult-lie status around the world and also spawned a cartoon show. Some of the most famous characters in the Pokemon world include Pikachu and Jigglypuff.
According to a review of Pokemon Black and White on Helium, the new game boasts much-improved graphics and 3D play.
