Supporting local charities

On 17th February Harry Sargant from our UK office kicked off our charity appeal by taking part in the Tokyo Marathon. He returned the impressive time of 3h28 and we would like to ask all our customers and suppliers to consider supporting our chosen charities for 2008.

Locally in the UK we are supporting Bristol Children’s Hospital, and their ‘Cots for Tots’ Appeal, which is funding the expansion of the neo-natal ward, providing vital support for newborn babies in need of special care, and their families.

In Japan we are raising money for The Tyler Foundation, a Japanese charity set up by a foreign couple to support children with cancer and their families.

Harry is in charge of our responsible tourism practices, and a big part of this is making sure our company gives something back to the local community, both in the UK and Japan.

Harry has a history of raising money for charity through long-distance running. In 2002 he completed the London Marathon (his first), in 3hr 27min, raising over £2500 for Spinal Research. He has also run half-marathons both in Japan and the UK, including raising money for COCO (Comrades of Children Overseas). Tokyo was Harry’s second full marathon, and his first for 6 years! Having put in the hours of training and a sterling effort on the day Harry is determined to raise as much money as possible for our chosen worthy causes.

Thank you for your support!

Harry
