Fifa Club World Cup '08 - Fans' Travel
The Fifa Club World Cup kicks off 11th December at Tokyo’s National stadium before eventually crowning the official world’s best club at the International Stadium in Yokohama on the 21st December. Representatives of the world’s six footballing bodies as well as a team from the host nation will battle it out for the honour of Club World Cup Champions (formerly Toyota Intercontinental Cup).
As European champions, Manchester United have qualified for the tournaments semi final stage with their first game taking place on the 18th December in Yokohama. It is expected that the English footballing giants will take their place in the final hoping to become club world champions as they did in 1999 after they beat Brazilian giants Palmeiras with a single Roy Keane goal. This year’s opposition teams are yet to be confirmed but the competition has been graced with the worlds most famous teams with Milan beating Argentina’s Boca Juniors in last years final, Brazil’s Internacional beating Barcelona the previous year and United’s English rivals Liverpool being beaten by Sao Paulo in 2005. Manchester United will be hoping to win the tournament and add the first bit of silverware to the cabinet this season. Manchester United will not be short of support wherever they go in the World, but Inside Japan Tours can offer travel packages for the real fans wishing to follow the team to Japan. We offer a number of packages allowing you to take in the games in Yokohama as well as for those more culturally minded fans wishing to sample a bit of Japanese tradition and culture. For those that managed to get to Japan for the World Cup in 2002 will know what a fantastic footballing experience this will be. Ganbatte Manchester United!
