In this three part documentary series, Andrew Marr looks at some of the worlds so called ‘Megacities’, of which Tokyo is the largest. The first episode focuses on London, Dhaka, Mexico, Shanghai and Japan’s capital. A Megacity is an urban conurbation with a population of more than10 million with metropolitan Tokyo having an estimated population of 35 million plus. The preview of Andrew Marr’s Megacities refers to Tokyo and efficient, high-tech, but alienating city. We don’t believe that Tokyo is anymore alienating than any other big city and is perhaps even more friendly than most - Just visit any izakaya in Tokyo!
